Oleksandr is a determined, hardworking, and responsible young man. From childhood he had many friends, did well at school, and was always active and curious. His greatest passion was football, and he loved active games and spending time with friends.
Today Sashko is interested in technology, especially cars and tractors. His stepfather is his mentor and role model in life, supporting the boy and helping him develop his interests. Five years ago, the family's life changed. His parents began noticing that Sashko had become lethargic, tired quickly, and had dark circles under his eyes. His general weakness caused concern. Since the boy's stepfather lives with diabetes, there was a glucometer at home. It was this that helped detect the danger in time. His parents decided to measure the boy's blood sugar level, and the result left no doubt. After examinations at hospital, Oleksandr was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
From that moment on, the young man's life changed. Daily blood sugar monitoring, insulin injections, carbohydrate counting, and constant attention to his wellbeing became his new reality.
Despite all the difficulties, Sashko does not give up. He is supported by his older sister, with whom he has a warm relationship, and by her children, with whom the boy gets along well. He continues to dream, to help the family around the household, and to look confidently toward the future. Oleksandr undergoes inpatient treatment when needed. Monitoring sensors help the boy keep his blood sugar under control.
Only the young man's mother works in the family. Treating and supporting two people with illness in the family requires significant financial costs. As a result of the war, the family's financial situation has deteriorated considerably, making it substantially more difficult to meet their necessary needs.
The family is reaching out for help with sensors for Oleksandr, so that he can continue to live without complications, receive the treatment he needs, and have the opportunity to develop fully and pursue his favorite activities.
Every contribution you make is a step toward the boy's stable wellbeing, toward a life without constant fear and complications. Thanks to the kindness of others, he will be able to manage his condition, study, pursue his favorite activities, and look confidently toward the future.
