Arming Aryna against Crohn's disease

    In 2014, six-year-old Arina watched from her window as rockets destroyed Donetsk Airport. Extensive work with a psychologist following her move to Pavlohrad helped to alleviate the impact of these traumatic memories. In 2022, Arina’s panic attacks returned. And in 2024, she suddenly developed intestinal bleeding. Following examinations, she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.
      In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the Charitable Aid Operator Charitable Foundation ‘Pomagayem’ dated 31 August 2020 and supplementary agreement No. 21.300 dated 20 February 2025, the project ‘Arm Arina against Crohn’s disease’ was launched on the website dobro.ua with the aim of raising charitable donations to cover the cost of Arina Piddubna’s treatment.
The initial fundraising target was 171,284.00 UAH (one hundred and seventy-one thousand two hundred and eighty-four UAH, 00 kopecks). During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds raised on the website of the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation “Ukrainian Charity Exchange” – dobro.ua – to purchase medicines for the girl. Therefore, in accordance with letters No. 132 dated 25 March 2025, No. 168 dated 28 April 2025 and No. 401 dated 5 August 2025, we received the collected amounts of 17,000.00 UAH (seventeen thousand hryvnias, 00 kopecks), 16,000.00 UAH (sixteen thousand hryvnias, 00 kopecks) and 13,100.00 UAH (thirteen thousand one hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks) into the Fund’s account and continued the fundraising campaign on the dobro.ua platform. 

      Last April, we purchased the medicine ‘Humira’ for Arina at a cost of 17,000.00 UAH (seventeen thousand hryvnias, 00 kopecks), in June, we ordered enteral nutrition for her at a cost of 12,794.58 UAH (twelve thousand seven hundred and ninety-four hryvnias, 58 kopecks), in August, we helped with medicines totalling 12,095.60 UAH (twelve thousand ninety-five hryvnias, 60 kopecks), and in November, we provided assistance amounting to 1,009.82 UAH (one thousand nine hryvnias, 82 kopecks).
      Once the full amount required to cover the girl’s treatment had been raised on two fundraising platforms: the Ukrainian Charity Exchange and the Pomagayem Charitable Foundation, we requested that the fundraising campaign be closed, that the project amount on the UBB be reduced to the actual amount raised of 100,254.65 UAH (one hundred thousand two hundred and fifty-four hryvnias, 65 kopecks), and to transfer the remaining funds – 57,354.65 UAH (fifty-seven thousand three hundred and fifty-four hryvnias, 65 kopecks) – to our bank account to cover the girl’s treatment and project administration, in accordance with letter No. 76 dated 19 February 2026.
      We have good news from the girl’s mother. In March, the operation was successfully performed at a hospital in Kyiv. Arina and her mother are now back home in Pavlohrad. She is gradually recovering from the procedure. She is feeling generally well, although she is still finding it difficult to cope with significant mental and physical strain.  
      Thanks to her special diet, Arina notes that her life has become a little easier. The medical diet has significantly improved her well-being, particularly in terms of her digestive system. Whereas she used to frequently experience discomfort and weakness, her condition is now noticeably more stable.
      We plan to use the remaining funds of 39,406.65 UAH (thirty-nine thousand four hundred and six hryvnias, 65 kopecks) to meet Arina’s needs in 2026.
