Patients of the Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology need help

Little patients of the Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology need urgent help! IPOG of National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine is the leading research organization in the country in the field of maternal and child health, annually assists 25,000 women and children. Institution’s X-ray apparatus, which diagnoses pathologies and diseases of children every day has broken! The state does not fully provide all the medical facilities and the hope is only for good people, who rescue our Ukrainian children. 

IPOG is the main institute for the provision of medical care for seriously ill children and infants. The Institute consists of 16 subdivisions, which perform not only medical work but are the main scientific base of Ukraine in the field of maternity and childhood protection. In the department of neonatology there is a highly specialized assistance to newborns born in a difficult condition, with congenital malformations, endocrine pathology. Newborns from the women with particularly severe pathology from all over Ukraine come to the department. Each month, during treatment at the institute, more than 250 patients require a variety of X-ray researches, but the X-ray equipment of the institution is obsolete, often fails and needs repair.

X-Ray apparatus SI-MPS 64 NAI 14075 by General Electric, 2004 release, is currently out of service and requires replacement of software.

It was this device that made it possible to:
- in the initial study, evaluate the structure of both soft and dense tissues (for example, you can detect scoliosis in the examination of the respiratory system);
- significantly increase the image and see structural changes in organs and tissues;
- to conduct diagnostics in a minimal time due to a shorter exposure (0.01-0.4 sec), which is safe for the patient;
- Increase the size of individual areas, change the contrast and brightness of the image.

With its help, doctors could timely recognize such diseases as pneumonia, bronchitis, pleurisy, tuberculosis, oncological diseases of the lungs, heart disease and cardiovascular disease. When it stopped working, doctors were forced to give directions to mothers and tiny babies to survey elsewhere where and that is very dangerous for the child. After all, transportation at a young age (not to mention children born prematurely) may simply be impossible on health grounds.
