Petya is on the way to recovery

In November 2024, the project “Petya on the Way to Recovery” was posted on the website of the dobro.ua, the purpose of which was to raise funds for a rehabilitation course for Osmachko Petro (diagnosis – autism).

When we first organized a fundraiser for Petya, he was only 9 years old. Then the boy almost did not speak and needed constant specialized support. Today, he can pronounce whole sentences - this is the result of systematic rehabilitation, the hard work of specialists and the tireless care of his family.

Despite the fact that the fundraising progressed slowly, with joint efforts we managed to achieve the goal. At the end of September 2025, the necessary amount was collected, and Petro was able to undergo an important rehabilitation course. On October 31, he successfully completed it.

After treatment, Petro’s mother shared noticeable changes in her son’s development. The boy began to better understand the language addressed to him, respond faster to requests and instructions. For the first time, he began to follow simple instructions, even when he received them by phone: for example, to write in a children's chat about the impossibility of connecting to the lesson or to go to the kitchen and make himself tea with honey.

In addition, Petro learned to correctly repeat the endings of words - before he did not pronounce them clearly or skipped them altogether. This is an important step in the formation of speech and understanding.

The boy's mother notes with gratitude: "We really want Petrik to continue developing, we believe that he will recover. But this requires a lot of work and money, which our family does not have. Therefore, we are sincerely grateful to everyone who helps our son."

Today, Petya understands others better, absorbs information faster, repeats words more confidently and even responds to simple instructions remotely. This is huge progress for a boy who, a few years ago, could not express his thoughts in words.
