Vika was born by caesarean section and suffered from oxygen deprivation. Subsequent examinations revealed hydrocephalus, whilst an MRI scan showed the effects of a stroke sustained during birth. These conditions have caused developmental delays and severe speech impairments.
In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the charitable aid operator, the Charitable Foundation ‘POMAGAEM’, dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. 383 of 7 July 2026, the project ‘Support Viktoria’s Rehabilitation’ was launched on the website of the International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ (UCE) – dobro.ua – with the aim of raising funds to cover the cost of Viktoria Saranoch’s treatment.
On 13 July 2026, thanks to the donors of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange who contributed to Viktoria’s fundraising campaign, we received 24,570.00 UAH (twenty-four thousand five hundred and seventy hryvnias, 00 kopecks) into the Fund’s current account to cover the girl’s treatment and the administration of the project.
Thanks to the funds received, in July this year we paid for Vika’s rehabilitation course at the Charitable Organisation ‘Rehabilitation Centre, PHYSICAL THERAPY AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION NAMED AFTER SAINT JOHN THE RIGHTEOUS’ for a total of 23,400.00 UAH (twenty-three thousand four hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and also covered the project administration costs.
During the rehabilitation course at the ‘St John’s Centre’, which took place from 7 to 22 July 2026, specialists worked with Vika on developing her speech and language comprehension, building her ability to wait, and improving her behaviour. The girl enjoyed attending the sessions and was keen to complete the tasks set by the specialists. During the course, positive progress was observed in her speech, behaviour and ability to wait, although the changes are taking place gradually. At the same time, speech and language comprehension remain key areas for further work.
This year, Vika has moved up to Year 6. She is spending her summer holidays actively, spending a lot of time at home in the swimming pool. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all donors and subscribers to dobro.ua for the opportunity to undertake the rehabilitation course and receive support from the specialists. Her parents continue to work with her and are making every effort to support her further development and help her acquire new skills.
At present, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the child’s needs.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the donors and partners of dobro.ua for their help, and to the UCE team for their long-standing cooperation!
