Give Christmas Eve's spirit to the needy

Kollyva (Christmas porridge) is the most important meal of Christmas, called by people “Meal of God”. There is a good tradition – at the family Christmas table one seat is left free – it is waiting for the traveler, or lost, or lonely, or poor. Among us this place is needed by those who got lost on the way of life: lost home and family warmth, who forced to freeze during holidays staying hungry. They admit that the Christmas holidays, when all the people gather in the family circle, they feel almost the saddest days of the year. It is our duty to take care that these people feel moments of the Christmas celebration and joy of unity.

Ukrainian Charity Fund "Social Partnership" plans to create for them a festive atmosphere of the Holy Supper at the Charity kitchen on the territory of the Fund. Decorated dining room will be filled with fragrant of Christmas treats. All those in need, who will visit Fund in Christmas, will have to wait Holiday Kollyva – we forecast more than 450 adults and 100 children – regular visitors of Child canteen. In addition, the concert and a master class for children from poor families on the painting of Christmas toys are planned. Christmas gifts will be waiting for each needy person – socks that will warm them in winter.

Also, disadvantaged people could try delicious kollyva at the 32 mobile points of mobile service "Social patrol" where every day in the open air more than 1 500 people are fed.

To this festival to be possible, the Foundation "Social Partnership" is raising funds for the purchase of products for the preparation of 2 100 kollyva plates: pearl barley, sugar, spread, raisins and poppy. A total amount is 4 112.50 UAH.

Christmas holidays are the unique time when disappear all the barriers which separate in our society rich and poor, healthy from sick, strong from weak, old from young, those who have a house, from those who don’t have.
