Sensors will help improve Vladyk's life
Vladyslav became ill with diabetes 6 years ago. The boy suffered from the usual “chickenpox” (varicella), but the disease caused complications to the pancreas. This may have caused the onset of diabetes. Vladyk ended up in the intensive care unit with extremely high blood sugar. Since then, the boy has been an insulin-dependent person. Vladyka needs to follow a regular diet and treatment. He receives four or more insulin injections every day, and many finger pricks to measure his glucose concentration with a glucometer.
Blood sugar levels are very important for a child's health. Optimal blood sugar levels help to ensure normal body function, while high or low blood sugar levels can lead to hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, as well as major subsequent health problems.
Vladyslav does well at school, enjoys swimming and soccer, but his favorite pastime is cycling. An active and energetic boy, he needs to constantly monitor his glucose levels to avoid more serious problems.
The sensors automatically measure and continuously store glucose readings day and night for 14 days, 24 hours a day, and transmit this data to the mother's device. This device can improve the child's life, but it requires a lot of money, which the Vladyk family does not have.
