Kharkiv lives under shelling. But even in such conditions, life goes on, and children are born every day in the city's maternity hospital No. 6. Among them are many premature babies, for whom every hour is a struggle for survival.
One of the most common threats to newborns is neonatal jaundice. For most babies, it goes away on its own, but for children born prematurely, high bilirubin levels can become critical - threatening nervous system damage, developmental delay, and even death.
To detect and treat this condition in a timely manner, doctors need modern equipment:
a phototherapy lamp is a safe method of treating jaundice that helps the child's body to remove excess bilirubin faster;
a non-invasive bilirubinometer is a device that allows you to quickly and painlessly measure bilirubin levels without the need to take blood from babies.
In 2025, thanks to the support of donors and partners, both of these devices were purchased and transferred to Kharkiv Maternity Hospital No. 6.
On March 17, 2025, the hospital received an MBJ20 bilirubinometer.
On March 20, 2025, the hospital received an Okuman Medikal phototherapy lamp.
