At first glance, Nastia is an ordinary eight-year-old child. She is a cheerful, active, intelligent, and creative girl. This year, Nastia became a third-grade student. She studies diligently and makes progress, even though she is learning online. She has been attending an art club for two years, draws a lot, and creates various crafts.
Unfortunately, however, she has been living with a terrible diagnosis for three years now – type 1 diabetes. The child needs constant blood sugar monitoring, which requires pricking her fingers 10 times a day. Nastia is a big girl: she has already learned to give herself insulin injections, under her mother's supervision for now.
Painful pricks can be avoided thanks to continuous glucose monitoring sensors. But such necessary devices are completely out of reach for the family: in a family of five – parents, Nastia, and two brothers – only the father works. Thanks to the support of our foundation, the family was provided with sensors for almost a year. Unfortunately, they have run out, but the need for them remains: continuous glucose monitoring is essential for the child to live a normal life. Please support the family in this struggle!
