Sofiika is an energetic and active child who studies well, loves to draw, read, and play with her younger sister. The girl also has a wonderful hobby – she plays the bandura with inspiration.
Almost two years ago, Sofiika's illness – type 1 diabetes – suddenly disrupted the family's life. The girl was diagnosed with a severe form of the disease that requires constant monitoring of her blood sugar levels. Sofiika's condition is entirely dependent on her glucose levels, so she may experience thirst, headaches, tremors in her limbs, pain in her legs, and intense hunger when her blood sugar drops.
To maintain a full life and development, the girl needs constant insulin injections and continuous monitoring of her blood glucose levels throughout her life. Sofiika is registered with an endocrinologist. She is hospitalized once every six months or in case of acute need.
Sofia's mother is raising two daughters on her own. She cannot cope with the financial costs of diabetes treatment, in particular the purchase of monitoring sensors, on her own, so she is asking for help. Become a ray of light in this family's life!
