The demographic situation in Ukraine at this stage is assessed as critical. And prematurely born children are a special category of children: they are very fragile and weak. Many of their body functions are still immature. If a baby weighs up to 1500 grams at birth, in the first months of life she faces many problems of the pulmonary, cardiovascular, nervous and digestive systems. Every life saved by such a baby is priceless! That is why for 5 years in a row our partner, benefactor and socially responsible leasing company "ESKA Capital" refuses corporate gifts and gives a Christmas miracle to children in need of urgent treatment. The channeling of funds from corporate gifts is a social initiative of a powerful leasing company that has been helping micro, small and medium-sized businesses to grow in Ukraine for over 12 years. New Year is the undisputed leader in gift races. But it's better to give gifts that are really needed.

The ESKA Capital team decided this year to again send aid to saving the lives of premature babies and to purchase the most important medical equipment for the Kiev Regional Children's Hospital (Boyarka). In just a year, 155 newborns pass through the intensive care unit of this hospital, of which 100% require intensive care. These are prematurely born children and children with severe perinatal pathology, requiring long-term respiratory therapy, infusion therapy, continuous monitoring of vital functions. Among children treated in 2019, 51% are newborns with a body weight <2000 g, among which almost a third of patients are with extremely low and very low birth weight, who need specialized intensive care and therapy.

A prematurely born child requires constant monitoring by doctors, control and maintenance of vital body functions, breathing and heartbeat develops. There are many pathologies, the development of which is accompanied by a chronic lack of oxygen in the child's blood. The patient monitor is designed to detect oxygen starvation and control the heartbeat of small patients. The monitor allows you to simultaneously monitor 8 indicators of a small patient's condition: for example, make an electrocardiogram, measure heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, or monitor changes in blood pressure. In case of critical cases, a warning system is installed in the device.  All data are displayed on the monitor in real time, they can be stored and viewed, and thanks to the data, the doctor can calculate further therapy on the spot.

Also important in nursing is the method of infusion therapy. Carrying out such therapy to premature babies is possible only with the help of special devices - infusion pumps (infusomats), which provide fluid for intravenous nutrition at a precisely calculated rate and protect the cerebral vessels from fluid overload. The pump is designed to deliver medication with high precision at both high and low infusion rates.  The pump has a monitoring and alarm system and a built-in battery. All this ensures the continuous operation of the pump during the transportation of the patient or when the power supply is cut off, and also monitors the correct operation of the pump, triggers an audible alarm, identifying its cause.

Thanks to "ESKA Capital" we have the opportunity to purchase a modern patient monitor and infusion pump for the Kiev Regional Children's Hospital. Boyarka who will qualitatively improve the nursing process and provide the availability of highly qualified care for newborn children in the Kiev region.

The Christmas miracle from ESKA Capital leasing company is an example of what corporate gifts can look like with meaning.
