Starting all over again

This active boy is 7-year-old Sergiy. He was born prematurely, was weak, suffered from jaundice and weight loss, and developed with delays. Sergiy gained weight and grew rapidly, but he had difficulty coping with his body and establishing coordination of movements. Then his social adaptation and communication with others deteriorated, and when he turned 3, he was diagnosed with childhood autism.

Of course, the boy actively attended therapy, which brought good results and allowed him to develop, learn, hear and understand, act correctly in different situations and see the world in bright colors. However, Serhiy's last course of rehabilitation was interrupted by the outbreak of a full-scale invasion, and the war deprived him of the opportunity to fight for his health. This caused a big setback in the knowledge and skills he had gained, so he has to start all over again. Now Sergiy does not speak, lags behind in psycho-speech development, and is in a "world of his own"/ The child has difficulties in social interaction and communication with adolescents and adults, stereotypical movements, impaired coordination and fine motor skills.

However, Sergiy is a very diligent, active and emotional boy. He loves cartoons and swings. His mother is raising her son on her own - they are IDPs from Luhansk region who were left without housing, kindergarten, medical care and any funds, including for their son's treatment.
