A single mother is unable to treat her daughter

Zlata had a very difficult birth. During childbirth, the girl suffered a brain injury, which led to severe consequences for the child. At first, the baby spent two weeks in intensive care on the verge of death. Then there were two years of continuous struggle for her life. Since then, Zlata has had a number of diagnoses, the most understandable of which is central nervous system damage and epilepsy.   

Zlata lives with her mother in Sumy. Her father abandoned the child and does not take part in her life. The single 22-year-old mother does not receive any help from her relatives either. She has to cope with all the problems of life on her own. Sometimes her own aunt or godmother helps to look after Zlata. Her mother dreams that her daughter will be able to sit up and hold her head on her own, and say her first word “mom”.

Twice a year, Zlata receives rehabilitation procedures from the state at the children's hospital in Sumy. Zlata's treatment is selected by the Kyiv Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Currently, the child is prescribed anticonvulsants, exercise therapy and massages. Zlata does not respond to toys, only plays in her mother's arms. Sometimes the girl reacts to people she has seen since birth. This extraordinary family, which consists of a very young mother and her daughter, needs help.
