Sasha wants to get out of a wheelchair. 6
Oleksandra was born at 33 weeks of pregnancy. The baby was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit, where she received two blood transfusions. Fortunately, in a few weeks Sasha was discharged home healthy.
However, at the age of six months, the girl first developed a seizure syndrome. This was the beginning of a 14-year-long daily struggle.
Now Oleksandra is in the 8th grade. This year was especially difficult for her: her assignments became more voluminous, and typing is still difficult for her. Her arms are affected by spasticity much more than her legs, so she struggles with her written work.
In winter, physical pain was added, making it difficult for Sasha to even get dressed. To help the girl develop her hands, the family regularly attends occupational and hand therapy classes. These classes give Sasha the opportunity to study at school, communicate with friends online, and dress and eat independently.
Unfortunately, in the summer, the classes stop, and the skills Sasha has worked so hard to develop may be lost. To prevent this from happening, she needs a rehabilitation course in August. This course will help the girl to maintain her verticalization skills, work with her hands and work with a speech therapist.
Oleksandra's family is asking for your help in raising funds for her rehabilitation. Your support will give Sasha a chance for a better life!
