To make the dream come true

For most children, cycling is common. For children with health problems, this is not only a means of transportation, but also therapy – thanks to regular cycling, the child's overall endurance of the body increases, the child will feel more vigorous, more active and stronger, the emotional background will stabilize. All of us together are able to fill the life of a child with a disability with colored paints of joy and happiness.

СO "CF" Caritas-Khmelnitsky UGCC" has been working with families in which a child with a disability is brought up since 2009 within the framework of the project" Social and pedagogical work with children and youth in Ukraine". During this time, about 500 children received emotional, psychological and physical assistance.

Today we intend to help a wonderful cheerful boy Peterchuk Pavlik, 14 years old. The child suffers from a rather rare disease, primary pulmonary hypertension. It is difficult for him to walk. The heart is very enlarged, shortness of breath and a constant feeling of fatigue limit its movements. Despite everything, the guy is very fond of animals, especially cats. Despite serious health problems, Pavlik was raised from childhood as a healthy, full-fledged child with many hobbies. His cherished dream is to ride a bike, but for him it must be special!

Cycling is also a therapy that will help Pavlik grow up as a healthy boy, communicate with peers and reduce his health problems, and strengthen his general immunity. Cardio load, which is provided by cycling, helps to strengthen the heart muscle, increase vascular tone, reduce the level of "bad" and increase the level of "good" cholesterol.
