Mykyta is a boy from a family of internally displaced people from Donetsk. From birth he was very sensitive and restless: he slept poorly, cried a lot, and was frequently ill. For a long time his parents searched for the cause of his condition, going through numerous examinations and consultations, but a precise diagnosis could not be established.
With age, his health problems only intensified: severe allergic reactions, frequent illnesses, weakness, and constant thirst. Two years ago, following a sharp deterioration in his condition and critically high blood sugar levels, Mykyta was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes with ketoacidosis.
From that moment on, the family's life changed completely. Daily glucose monitoring, insulin therapy, constant finger pricks, and strict dietary control all became the new reality for this little boy and his family. The course of the disease proved to be very unstable: blood sugar levels frequently swing from critically low to very high values.
Continuous glucose monitoring sensors have become a true lifesaver for Mykyta. They allow changes in blood sugar to be seen in real time, enable timely responses, and help avoid dangerous episodes. For the family, this is not simply a device – it is the eyes that save their child's life every day.
Mykyta is an active and creative boy. He loves football, walks in the forest, travelling, and is also passionate about salt dough modelling and drawing. Despite his difficult journey, he continues to find joy in life and dreams of being an ordinary happy child.
The most immediate and vital need for Mykyta is continuous blood glucose monitoring sensors.
The family sincerely reaches out to all caring people with a request for help.
