Maria is a creative girl: she draws beautifully, sculpts, works with beads and thermo mosaics. She was born a healthy child, without complications. Her childhood was happy – Maria was long-awaited and desired, grew up loved by both parents, and was rarely ill.
Unfortunately, after the de-occupation of her native Bucha, Maria was diagnosed with a serious illness – type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent). The girl's health is unstable: she has high levels of glycated sugar and is recommended for inpatient treatment.
The child's illness not only affects the physical and mental state of the entire family, but also deals a devastating blow to their budget. The family is in a difficult financial situation. Every month, they have to spend what little money they have on test strips, injection needles and finger prickers, wipes, cooling pens, additional medicines and special food for the child. But in addition to this, Mariyka also urgently needs monitoring sensors.
The mother has a disability rating of 2, recently underwent an expensive operation, and is preparing for a second operation—revision and replacement of her right joint. The father does odd jobs in construction and also needs urgent surgery due to complications from varicose veins.
Help is vitally important for this family. They have already lived through enough nightmares for several lifetimes – help them find a ray of hope!
