Kira is a little girl with a great desire to live a normal childhood. She goes to school, smiles, dreams, and really wants to just be a child – without constantly worrying about her health.
Kira is a first grader. She is learning to read, loves to draw, and tries very hard to be strong, even when it is not easy for her.
The girl was born during a difficult delivery. The first few months seemed calm, but then the family's life became filled with doctors, tests, and constant anxiety about her health. From early childhood, Kira has had to live with type 1 diabetes. This means constant monitoring of her blood sugar levels, insulin, scheduled meals, and a strict daily routine, without breaks or days off. What is simple and normal for other children is a daily responsibility for Kira.
Subsequently, new difficulties were added to the unstable sugar level – periodic health problems, which resulted in the girl being hospitalized again. With the onset of cold weather, these conditions sometimes return and prevent Kira from feeling well. However, Kira does not give up and does not lose her joy of life.
The family lives modestly. Only her father works, despite his own health problems. All expenses related to the treatment of diabetes fall on his shoulders. Her parents are trying very hard, but it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to cope on their own. That is why they are asking for help.
Your help will enable them to consistently provide Kira with everything she needs to live with diabetes, including glucose monitoring sensors, and to feel that they are not alone. Your kindness is a great contribution to a calmer and brighter childhood for Kira!
