At the age of 9, Eldar knows exactly when he needs to check his blood sugar. His days are spent moving from one insulin injection to the next, living under strict restrictions and in constant fear of glucose spikes that could lead to a coma.
In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the Charitable Aid Operator Charitable Foundation ‘Pomagayem’ dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. 349  dated 21 January 2026, the ‘Freedom from Injections’ project was launched on the website dobro.ua with the aim of raising charitable donations to cover the cost of Eldar Rubel’s treatment.
During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds raised on the website of the International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ – dobro.ua – to purchase some of the beds for the boy.
Therefore, in accordance with letter No. 64 dated 5 February 2026, we received the collected sum of 11,425.00 UAH (eleven thousand four hundred and twenty-five hryvnias, 00 kopecks) into the Fund’s account and continued the fundraising campaign on the dobro.ua platform.
In February of this year, we purchased Omnipod Dash pods for Eldar to the value of 11,425.00 UAH (eleven thousand four hundred and twenty-five hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
Eldar is currently feeling well. The winter period proved to be quite difficult — due to the severe cold, he had to constantly battle colds. Frequent illnesses were accompanied by a high temperature, and his blood sugar levels were unstable and fluctuated frequently.
With the arrival of spring, the situation has improved significantly. It is warmer outside, and Eldar spends a lot of time in the fresh air. He plays actively with a ball, rides a scooter and enjoys spending time on the swings.
His mum is very grateful for the help in purchasing Omnipod Dash pods, thanks to which insulin delivery has improved significantly, and his blood sugar levels are now within the normal range. Eldar no longer worries about blood sugar spikes and can enjoy playing to his heart’s content without having to stop for insulin injections.
Furthermore, 9 March was a special day for Eldar — he celebrated his first milestone birthday, turning 10 years old.
Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the boy’s needs, and the project is still raising funds.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the donors and partners of dobro.ua for their help, and to the UBB team for their long-standing cooperation!
