"Probably, for the first time in almost 8 years of our son’s life, we were glad that Nikita did not understand what was happening…", says Nikita’s mother about the war and her son, who lives with cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis and episyndrome. The boy tries to hold his head on his own, understands numbers and orients himself in space. He also wants to be healthy, but for this he needs to constantly attend rehabilitation courses.

Unfortunately, constant fear and excitement do their job – and the boy's condition worsens. Each siren causes the boy to scream and cry, and the parents explain that everything will be fine. Nikita still does not understand why adults do not sleep at night, constantly keep essential things near them, run somewhere and carry him sleepy from time to time to the car. He also doesn't understand why there are so many strangers in their house.

The Dobrovolskyi’s family lives in the Vinnytsa region and all this time has been hosting people who fled or suffered from this terrible war. Nikita and his mother help the displaced people and together they produce candles and donate them to the bunkers and those who need them, while the boy's father, meanwhile, helps the military and takes people out of dangerous places. Because of the war, Nikita's parents were left without work and the opportunity to provide and treat their son.
