Animals that experience war – help the zoo

In September 2023, the project "Animals experiencing war - help to the zoo" was posted on the website of the dobro.ua, the purpose of which is to collect funds to pay for the feeding of animals in the Kharkiv Zoo.

In connection with the fact that a certain amount of funds was collected within the project, and the zoo has an urgent need to provide animals with meat, we withdrew an amount of 14,080.00 hryvnias 00 kopecks. for partial implementation of the project.

By adding funds from the Fund's budget, we were able to purchase 355 kg of beef for a total of UAH 49,984.00. 00 kopecks for animals, including funds from dobro.ua in the amount of UAH 14,080.00. 00 kopecks

Currently, the zoo is partially functioning, and the facility lacks funding to provide for all the animals and staff, for the second year (since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion), the zoo survives at the expense of charitable support. In turn, we have been supporting animals in the zoo by purchasing meat for almost 2 years. This support was made possible thanks to the contributions of well-wishers.

In terms of the value of the collection, the zoo ranks second in Ukraine - after the Kyiv Zoo. Currently, there are 1,962 representatives of the fauna here, including more than 200 species of animals, including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. It is for them that we start collecting funds for food and nutrition.

Fundraising for the project continues with the goal of providing assistance for the zoo in 2024.
