Maksym Didenko continues to fight with a serious illness. The story of this boy is well known to UBB donors: at the age of three, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Then the baby had to go through a lot: a shunt operation, then a tumor resection, 16 chemotherapy courses, repeated tumor resection, radiation therapy, examinations and constant monitoring of the tests. A remission was achieved. Unfortunately, it was short-lived and it was again necessary to start all over again... 

For the last 7 months, the boy received metronomic chemotherapy. And the results were not bad. Recently, however, Maksym has become sluggish, which alarmed parents. Doctors recommended an MRI scan. According to the results of MRI revealed a negative dynamics – an increase in the size of metastasis in the chest and the appearance of a new metastasis in the region of the right optic nerve.

With the results of the examinations, they went to a consultation with a professor, an oncologist, O. Zheludkova in the NPC of specialized medical care for children named after V.F. Vojno-Yasenetsky (Moscow). For Maxim was changed the treatment protocol to its third option, with recommendation of anti-relapse metronomic polychemotherapy with Avastin, Topotecan and Temodal. Then after 2 months, an MRI scan. To start treatment Maksym needs of medicaments: Topotecan lyoph. 4 mg No.1, 4 vials of which cost 10 179 UAH and Avastin conc. for inf. 100 mg/4 ml in the quantity of 2.00 packs for the amount of 19,025 UAH.
