In search of clean water: Kherson

There is a Koshova-river in Kherson. And the river witnesses that Zaporizhzjhya Cossacks were here before Kherson establishment. Today there are lots of shipbuilders here, thus at present its name is Korabel (Shipbuilder). The coastal zone is the favorite place of residential area. As a result, this lovely place is covered with garbage that was left by its visitors.

Through the ecological event on cleaning of Koshova river we want to prove that nature’s purity depends not only on the government and municipal services, but most of all on our level of consciousness.

We have a will, plan and support from municipal services to take the garbage from the territory (and, believe us, it’s huge amount there!). We are going to involve the management of ship building plant with its equipment to smouth out the ground and make some paths. Wehavesupportofyouthandecologicalnon-governmentalorganizations.Theirmembers, as well as residents of the living area will participate in this activity!

To fulfill that we are in need of big and strong 200 rubbish pockets, 100 pairs of working gloves for volunteers and some money for announcements – appeal to the residents (such announcements will be putted on each door of the house). They will inform people how to take THEIR garbage off and preserve their own places for rest!

The project is carried out by UBB and "Barier" TM as a part of "IN SEARCH OF CLEAN WATER joint campaign."
