Polina was born weighing only 520 g. For nine months, doctors did everything possible to help the girl survive, learn to breathe independently, suck, and swallow. For eight years now, Polina has been struggling with the consequences of perinatal damage to the central nervous system: protein-energy malnutrition, hyperactivity syndrome, and digestive problems.
In accordance with cooperation agreement No. 21 between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange and the charity aid operator POMAGAEM Charitable Foundation dated August 31, 2020, and supplementary agreement No. 21. 283 dated 30.09.2024, the project “From 520 g to a full life” was posted on the website of the ICF “UBB” - dobro.ua - with the aim of attracting donations to pay for the treatment of Spodina Polina.
During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds collected on the website of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange International Charitable Foundation (UCCF) – dobro.ua – to purchase special food and medicine for the girl. Therefore, according to letters No. 208 dated May 22, 2025, and No. 546 dated October 23, 2025, we received UAH 19,140.00 (nineteen thousand one hundred and forty hryvnias, 00 kopecks) and UAH 48,780.00 (forty-eight thousand seven hundred and eighty hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to the Fund's account and continued fundraising on the dobro.ua platform.
In May of this year, we purchased medicines and special food for Polinka from Resurs Junior worth UAH 19,140.00 (nineteen thousand one hundred and forty hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and in October for a total amount of UAH 48,780.00 (forty-eight thousand seven hundred and eighty hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
Polinka is now 122 cm tall, and although she has gained very little weight, it is a small but important result. Her eyesight has deteriorated slightly, but we recently ordered new glasses.
Polinka has become more active in her studies, although this is still difficult for her. She is a very creative girl who loves to draw, sculpt with plasticine, and create angels and other crafts with her own hands.
Recently, the family moved from Pokrovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region, to Morshyn due to a dangerous situation at home. In Morshyn, Polina found a new friend, but she asks to go home every day — to where her father is.
Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the child's needs, and the project is still raising funds.
We sincerely thank the donors and partners of dobro.ua for their help, and the UBB team for their many years of cooperation!
