A brave girl does not give in to illness

Anastasia is nineteen. She was born a normal, active child – smiling, curious, cheerful. From early childhood, she was very creative, loved to sing, draw, dance, play sports, and, of course, eat sweets. But when the girl turned eight, her life changed dramatically and irrevocably.

Anastasia began to feel constantly thirsty and tired, lost weight, and lost her appetite. The child did not have time to take tests before she was rushed to the hospital. There she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Since then, the girl has been living according to a strict regimen: she constantly measures her blood sugar levels, takes insulin injections before each meal, and carefully monitors her diet. She had to give up her favorite sweets and learn to restrain herself even when she wanted a simple piece of cake. It's difficult, especially when you're surrounded by people who don't have such restrictions.

Despite everything, Nastia tries to live life to the fullest. She is currently in her second year at university and works part-time. She tries her best not to give up, even when things get tough. And that happens often, especially since her father and brother are in the military. She rarely sees them, constantly worries about them, and prays every day that they will return alive and well. Their courage gives Anastasia the strength to keep fighting, even when she feels discouraged.

Until the age of 18, the state provided Anastasia with support in the form of a pension and trips to sanatoriums. However, upon reaching adulthood, she lost her status as a child with a disability and, consequently, state assistance. The family's income is not enough to cover everyday expenses, let alone trips or even simple outings. Now Nastya needs continuous glucose monitoring sensors.
