Despite her diabetes, Alisa does sports
Since childhood, Alisa has been an active child. As soon as she learned to walk, she spent half a day playing with a ball at the stadium. But her childhood didn't go as planned. As soon as Alisa started kindergarten, she was quarantined because of the covid. The forced isolation depressed the child. In 2021, with the advent of vaccines, they were waiting for life to normalize, making plans. But less than a year later, a full-scale war broke out. In the early days, Alisa practically never left the house, staying in the corridor all the time and shuddering from the explosions. Later, the girl got used to the sounds of war and even enrolled in a soccer team. There she made a lot of new friends, whom she missed so much. The first grade was held online, and Alisa studied as best she could because there was almost never any electricity. After the end of the school year, the girl and her family began to go outdoors more often, to the river and the forest. But one day a rocket flew right over her with a terrible whistle. Alisa was very scared. Later, doctors said that this stress could have triggered the development of the disease.
At the end of October of the second school year, Alisa started drinking a lot of water, became less active, her vitality was dropping, and almost nothing made her happy. Tests showed very high blood sugar levels in the child's blood. They checked it again – there was no mistake... Then everything was like the rest of the children who were diagnosed with diabetes. An ambulance, a drip, a hospital.
Alisa is getting used to a new life, every day her mother reads a lot of information about this disease, about lifestyle and how to minimize all the negative things. The girl's mother is trying to do everything to make her daughter's childhood as healthy as possible. The sensors that continuously measure sugar levels help with this most of all. With them, Alisa can continue to play football and even compete in the championship. Unfortunately, today the state does not cover even 10% of what a child needs.
The journey of living with diabetes has just begun for Alisa, and the child dreams that someday doctors will invent a cure so that she can return to normal life. And now the girl needs help with sensors to measure her blood sugar.
