Kamila’s persistent struggle

Kamila grew and developed like other kids. The girl’s third birthday was a true happiness: a big cake, balloons, songs, dances and friends. It seemed that the day would be endless, that it would be always like that. But, unfortunately, after the celebration Kamila started having health problems. Every day it was getting worse and worse. Now the girl is in a hospital bed at the Institute of Neurosurgery. Kamila has been in coma for two months. She has undergone a surgery to remove a tumor but now she needs to be operated on again to insert a shunt system.

Previously her parents managed to cope without the help of the others: bought medicines and all the others necessary medical materials. Now their resources are exhausted and that’s why the parents ask not indifferent people to help.

The girls’ disease girls began with loss of appetite and vomiting. Then she had a squint. The girl was examined for a long time, a lot of tests were performed. Only MRI examination revealed Kamila’s disease: a tumor of the brain stem. The girl was sent to the Institute of Neurosurgery. There the little patient had a partial tumor removal.

But after surgery Kamila stopped breathing by herself. Kamila has been kept on artificial respiration for two months. During this time the girl got pneumonia and other related consequences. Every day treatment of Kamila required a lot of expensive drugs. Later the patient began to breathe on her own.

It seemed that everything started to get better but it turned out that the shunt system which had been installed during the surgery failed and it should be replaced. But after a long and an intensive treatment the parents cannot afford to buy it.
