Ivan is 12 years old, and someday he will definitely make an important contribution to the development of IT. In the meantime, we need to keep him healthy. Vania has diabetes. To minimize the risks it carries, doctors recommend using sensors.

Vania dreams of becoming a programmer. He is in the 6th grade, loves math and English, visits robotics club and is well versed in modern IT trends.

Ivan is a loving older brother: more than a year ago, he got a little sister Masha, and he enjoys playing with her, helping her mother take care of her.

The disease came into Vania's life when he was 4 years old. One day, the boy began to rapidly lose weight; irritability, weakness, and thirst appeared. He was hospitalized with a glucose level of 16 mmol/ l – three times higher than normal.

Vania was prescribed Novorapid and Levemir. He makes at least 5 injections per day. Insulin should be injected when the glucose level is not normal. How can you know about it?

Previously, you had to prick your fingers 20-25 times a day and take blood for analysis. It is painful and inconvenient. But if you do not do this, "jumps" in glucose will soon lead to severe and irreversible consequences for the kidneys, cardiovascular system, and vision.

During puberty, due to hormonal changes, Vania's level of glucose in the blood becomes less and less predictable. It can drop sharply to 2.5 mmol/ l or jump to 22. Such fluctuations are very dangerous, especially at night.

Now, as a result of the development of technologies that Ivan admires so much, patients have begun to use sensors. The sensor is attached to the body, automatically measures the glucose level every 5 minutes and sends information to a smartphone. If insulin needs to be injected, Vania will immediately know about it.

Sensors are a huge relief for Vania. They allow him to live more freely and safely, study, play sports, make plans for the future. But one sensor works for 14 days and is not cheap. We are opening a collection for a year's supply of Freestyle libre 2 sensors. Let's support Vania together!
