Zhenya needs help with treatment

When Zhenya was 2 years and 9 months old, his parents noticed a drastic change in the behavior of their active and cheerful boy. It was hard for her mother to believe and accept such a terrible disease, especially frightening were Zhenya's blue puncture marks, which did not have time to heal.

Zhenya and his mother spent three weeks at the Cherkasy Regional Children's Hospital. In the meantime, the endocrinologist selected insulin doses, and his mother learned how to give injections, count carbohydrates in food and keep blood glucose within normal limits, although it is very difficult with diabetes.

In the hospital, Mom learned about such an incredible thing as sensors for round-the-clock blood glucose monitoring. They not only help to compensate for diabetes much better, but also save little fingers from constant painful punctures. Zhenya's first sensor was fitted before she was discharged from the hospital, and it is a truly incredible invention. But it requires constant considerable expenses from the family, as it is not provided free of charge by the state.

Zhenya has been ill for a year and 4 months. In addition to him, his parents have a daughter. Only his father works in the family, because his mother had to take maternity leave to care for a child with a disability. Diabetes is extremely unstable in young children and requires constant monitoring. After all, the child's blood sugar level can both rise and fall sharply, which is dangerous for the child's life.
