Woman-doctor needs help with cancer treatment

Olha is a neuropathologist who has devoted more than 30 years of her life to treating patients with various neurological diseases and teaching students in this specialty. "Unfortunately, now I am the patient. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer with metastases", says this woman, "and I am disabled in group 2". In 2019, Olha was prescribed chemotherapy treatment at the Kharkiv Regional Oncology Center, the purpose of which was to reduce the size of the tumor and metastases and the possibility of subsequent surgery.

During 6 courses of chemotherapy, the tumor and metastases slightly decreased in size, but complications soon arose in the form of phlegmon of the lower jaw. But, alas, after the operation to remove the phlegmon, Olha's general condition and problems with the cardiovascular system did not allow chemotherapy to be carried out.

After 2 months, the disease began to progress, the tumor and metastases increased, and pain in the spine appeared. In August last year in Kiev, doctors performed an operation to remove the breast. Then there was a consultation of oncologists and chemotherapists with the appointment of drugs for further treatment. Olha Yuriivna has a hope for stabilization of her condition and subsequent recovery.

"My husband, who is also a doctor, has had a coronavirus with severe pneumonia. He is currently recovering from his illness. My daughter does not work, as she has to constantly look after me, especially after my operation. I would like to hope that there are many people in our country who are not indifferent to the grief of others, and you will be able to support me on the way to recovery, give me a chance to live on and continue to heal people, doing what I love", Olha addresses the donors.
