Vladyslav is a very creative and active boy. He loves to draw and play the accordion, but most of all, he loves to ride his bike. Unexpectedly, the boy fell seriously ill. Absorbed by work, the stress of war, and a host of other problems, his mother did not notice the warning signs in her son's behavior: constant thirst, nausea, and frequent trips to the bathroom. The source of these symptoms was revealed at summer camp – eight-year-old Vladyk was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
The first few months were a complete nightmare: while his father was at the front, the boy and his mother had to learn to live anew on their own. The disease required them to quickly learn how to inject insulin, count bread units, and notice changes in sugar levels at a glance. His mother looked for other children with diabetes so that her son could see that he was not alone, and so that she could exchange wisdom and support with their parents.
Eventually, they learned everything they needed to know and began to see the world differently. Vlad became responsible and tries to monitor his sugar levels. Thanks to modern gadgets, life has become more comfortable. But sensors are expensive, and the family cannot afford to buy them all the time. When Vlad has sensors, he lives a full life, not much different from his peers. He dreams that a cure for diabetes will be invented in the future, but for now, he needs help with sensors.
