Roma from Kamianske, at the age of 14, weighs only 35 kg. Ten years ago, his small intestine was removed, leaving only 12 cm. Roma receives vital special nutrition, he constantly needs medication and consumables. All this is very expensive, so the family needs our support. We are opening a collection for Roma's needs for 4 months.
Roma is an active, cheerful boy. He loves spending time with his older brother Sasha and younger brother Gordii. Roma is in the eighth grade, has many friends. In his free time, he enjoys playing football.
Roman loves to study. Recently, he received a diploma for participating in the algebra Olympiad, where he scored 96 points out of 100.
His digestive problems began at birth, and treatment brought only temporary improvement. In the summer of 2015, Roma was admitted to the intensive care unit with acute abdominal pain. The baby underwent emergency surgery. Only 12 cm of the small intestine, which is responsible for the absorption of nutrients, was saved.
Since then, Roman has had a deficiency of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Every month, he receives parenteral nutrition for ten days: special mixtures Nutriflex Lipid and Smofilipid, Ringer's solutions and Sterofundin, which contain electrolytes, are administered intravenously. In addition to regular food, the boy drinks the Modulen mixture.
Due to the constant deficiency of nutrients, Roma lags behind in physical development: his height is 142 cm, and his weight is 35 kg. Over the past year and a half, the boy has grown only 2 cm.
To support the digestive system, Roman takes Ukrliv, Creon, Heptral, Vikasol, and Nolpaza. To prevent pathogenic microbes from multiplying in the intestines, he takes the antibiotic Alfa Normix. He also needs vitamins, minerals and drugs that strengthen the immune system.
