Reduce risks to Svyatoslav's life

About 6 insulin injections and 10 finger pricks per day are a difficult test for twelve-year-old Svyatoslav. He used to use sensors, but their supply ran out, and measuring "sugar" and injecting insulin is vital. Therefore, the boy is forced to prick his fingers again.

Sviatoslav was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 10. At first, nausea and weakness appeared, Sviatoslav lost weight sharply. When the glucose level rose to 11 mmol/l, with the norm of up to 5, it became clear that he had diabetes, like his dad. The family's assumption was confirmed at the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt". From that moment on, the boy's life changed dramatically.

Sviatoslav lives in Nikopol. He is kind, cheerful and fair, has many friends. The boy takes care of homeless animals, always feeds and cures them. They have a dog, Kulia, and a cat, Simba.

Sviatoslav loves listening to music, dreams of learning to play the guitar. He is also interested in computer technology and wants to become a programmer to create games and websites.

The boy finished 6th grade online. He is a diligent student, especially he likes computer science and physical education.

Nikopol is a front-line city, where it is dangerous to walk the streets due to constant rocket attacks and drone attacks. At first, Sviatoslav and his mother spent the night in a bomb shelter, but then they stopped – it was very exhausting for them.

In order to safely and comfortably control his blood sugar level and avoid serious disorders of the heart, kidneys, and vision, Sviatoslav needs Libre 2 sensors. These devices automatically measure blood glucose levels and send the results to a smartphone. One sensor works for 14 days and costs 2,270 UAH.
