In May of this year, Matviy learned that he had insulin-dependent diabetes. The boy had just turned 11, and he had to start living in a new, difficult and responsible way. Matviy suffered this terrible event in his life very painfully, both morally and physically. The boy was panic-stricken afraid of doctors and injections. The doctors barely managed to get him out of the stressful situation and the boy was discharged from the hospital. Now he needs to check his glucose level every day, which means pricking his fingers several times a day and injecting insulin. This brings Matviy incredible suffering! His fingers are already unbearably sore from the punctures. But, it is a necessity. The child's glucose level sometimes drops, then rises to critical levels. Even at night, it is necessary to measure sugar. The family is worried, because they may miss a critical moment and Matviy will end up in intensive care again.
Matviy's family is IDPs, they were forced to leave their place of residence in Vovchansk. They lost everything they had: their job, their house, and all the property they had. They were evacuated to Kharkiv. The parents do not have the financial means to buy Matviy expensive medicines and follow an appropriate diet. Mom hopes that her request and Matviy's desire to have a painless glucose monitor will be granted. Mom really wants to see her son again cheerful and active, as he was before.
