Daria fell ill at the age of 7, in September 2019. Before that, the active and lively child lost weight quickly and was constantly thirsty. Then everything was like for children living with insulin-dependent diabetes – round-the-clock glycemic control of sugar, insulin therapy, counting bread units, finger punctures up to 15 times a day, rehabilitation procedures in sanatoriums. At school, the girl was extremely lucky. The nurse treated Daria with full understanding and professional attention. From the very first days, she taught Dasha how to give herself injections in the abdomen and helped her count carbohydrates. Parents raising a child with diabetes know how important it is for them to stay in school. Unfortunately, not all schools have such a favorable situation.
Daria is a creative girl. She enjoys attending art school, dances, and takes an active part in class and school life. The girl is an excellent student, she graduated from 5th and 6th grade with a letter of commendation. To maintain proper glycemic control, she really needs sensors that provide continuous sugar monitoring. With them, the girl will feel more confident in society, and her parents will finally have peace of mind about her condition. Dasha has a tendency to glycemia, especially at night, so it is very difficult for her parents to control everything around the clock. Her mother asks for help with sensors that her parents cannot buy on their own.
