Due to the war, Tymur lost his home, and there was a regression in his development. But thanks to rehabilitation, step by step he is rediscovering the world. Beside him is his mother, who believes: her son will succeed.
At 1 year and 8 months, Natalia noticed that Tymur did not always respond to his name, avoided eye contact, and did not understand addressed speech. That was when she first consulted a neurologist.
At the age of three, doctors diagnosed Tymur with a severe form of childhood autism. This is a condition in which a child finds it difficult to communicate, understand speech, and interact with the world around them.
It is difficult for Tymur to express his thoughts and acquire skills. He also has valgus foot deformity, so he gets tired quickly while walking. Kyphotic posture creates additional strain on the spine.
The war changed the family’s life. They used to live in Kharkiv, but due to shelling were forced to move to Dnipro. The experienced stress affected Tymur: his sleep worsened, hyperactivity increased, and there was a regression in development. Nataliia is raising her son alone and cannot work, as she spends all her time with him.
Tymur loves sculpting, doing puzzles, listening to music, and dancing. He works with a speech therapist, a neuropsychologist, and attends sensory integration sessions.
In September, Tymur started studying offline; he is already a 2nd-grade student. But noise and workload are difficult challenges for him.
Thanks to rehabilitation at the St. John's Center, Tymur has become more attentive, calmer, and more resilient. He engages better, concentrates on tasks, follows simple instructions, and repeats individual words after specialists.
Now the family needs our support. We need to raise funds to pay for a two-week rehabilitation program at the “Ioannov Center” in May. These sessions will help the boy work on speech development, improve his physical condition, and consolidate acquired skills. Please join the fundraiser for Tymur so that he can continue moving forward!
