Little Oleksandr has been fighting for his life since the very first days. Oleksandr was born with very complex congenital developmental abnormalities. He has spina bifida, only one kidney, a congenital hand defect, and severe brain damage.
From birth, doctors detected serious abnormalities in the development of his central nervous system: a meningocele, which has already been surgically treated, and hydrocephalus – the accumulation of fluid in the brain. Over time, his condition was complicated by infections, which led to even greater brain damage.
Currently, Oleksandryk’s brain has multiple cystic changes that interfere with the normal functioning of vital systems. This causes dangerous intracranial pressure, seizures, and a constant threat to his life.
The only chance to help is to perform several stages of complex neurosurgical procedures. Doctors must restore the drainage of fluid from the brain and stabilize his condition. Without these surgeries, the consequences could be irreversible.
However, the treatment requires special supplies and implants that the family cannot afford on their own.
Oleksandr has already endured an extremely difficult journey. And now he needs our support to have a chance at life.
Every donation makes a real difference. Together, we can give Oleksandr a chance to fight and a future!
