Olesia from the village of Slobozhanske has already started coloring pictures. Quite recently, holding pencils was difficult for her. But thanks to constant rehabilitation, classes, and the support of her family, she is gradually learning new things.
Lesia has a rare genetic disorder – chromosome 5 syndrome, which affects intellectual development, speech, and muscle tone.
Since November, Olesia has been attending kindergarten - and for her, this is a great achievement. She enjoys playing with other children, carefully watches them, and tries to repeat movements during music classes. Not everything works out yet, but Lesia sincerely rejoices in every success.
Olesia’s vocabulary is constantly growing, and she already uses about 40 words.
Recently, the girl has been picking up pencils more and more often. Together with her mom and dad, she is learning to trace shapes and color them. This is not easy: due to developmental features, the thumbs on both hands are underdeveloped, so her hands remain weak. But most importantly, Lesia has started to carefully follow the results of her work and tries to finish what she starts.
Olesia is becoming more independent in everyday life. She can undress by herself. For most children, this is an ordinary thing, but for her, it is the result of daily classes, great effort, and her parents’ patience.
But due to pelvic misalignment and neurological disorders, scoliosis is progressing, and the deformity of her legs and feet is worsening. Therefore, Lesia needs regular physical therapy.
We are launching a fundraiser to cover the cost of a rehabilitation program at the "Ioanniv Center" this summer. The classes will help support Olesia’s physical condition, develop her speech, coordination, and independence skills.
Please support Lesia with a donation. Every contribution is another step forward, new skills, and important achievements for Olesia!
