Veronika's journey began even before her first breath – at 7 months of pregnancy, doctors diagnosed the girl with severe congenital defects of the brain and spinal cord. On the second day of her life, the little girl underwent her first spinal surgery, followed by surgery on her head, and then another at six months. At one year old, Veronica had a shunt inserted into her brain to drain fluid.
Today, Veronica is six years old. Instead of playing on the playground, her life consists of hospitals, pain, and struggling for every movement and every word. Spastic tetraparesis, spina bifida, hydrocephalus, foot deformity, and severe developmental delay are her daily enemies. But she does not give up. Rehabilitation is her only chance not to break down, to stand on her feet, to speak, to live without pain. And every time after a course, we see miracles: she becomes stronger, more active, more open to the world.
But now Veronica is unable to undergo a new course of rehabilitation. Due to war, illness, and lack of funds, her progress is at risk.
Don't pass by! Be part of a miracle for Veronika. She deserves to live, not just survive!
