Veronika's struggle began long before she was born. In the seventh month of pregnancy, doctors diagnosed the girl with severe congenital defects of the brain and spinal cord. On the second day of her life, the newborn baby underwent her first spinal surgery, followed by surgery on her head, and then another at six months. At one year old, Veronica had a shunt inserted into her brain to drain fluid.
Today, the girl is 6 years old. Her diagnosis is multiple congenital malformations of the central nervous system, spina bifida, symptomatic focal epilepsy, and cognitive impairment. Instead of playing on the playground, her life consists of hospitals, pain, and struggling for every movement, for every word. But Veronica does not give up.
Rehabilitation is her only chance to become stronger, learn to speak, and move without pain. And after each course, small miracles happen: Veronica begins to understand spoken language better, her sleep has improved, and most importantly, the girl has begun to hold her head up and sit up little by little! These small victories are proof that the struggle is worthwhile.
But rehabilitation cannot be stopped. Without it, progress will disappear and the pain will return. Veronica's family has already exhausted all its resources and needs support. Every hryvnia you donate is a chance for Veronica to continue fighting and moving forward. Help the girl not to give up. Join us!
