Anna is a very kind, active, and cheerful 12-year-old girl. She loves volleyball, enjoys walking with her friends, laughing, and dreaming – just like any child her age. But for the past two years, she has been facing a serious challenge: type 1 diabetes.
Every day Anna lives with constant blood sugar monitoring. This means dozens of finger pricks, worry, and checks day and night. For a child, this is very painful and difficult.
For Anna to be able to live more peacefully and safely, she greatly needs continuous glucose monitoring sensors. These help control glucose levels without constant finger pricks and alert her to dangerous drops or spikes in blood sugar. The cost of a single sensor is significant, and it needs to be replaced approximately every two weeks. Since her mother has been raising Anna on her own from birth, it is financially very difficult for her to provide Anna with sensors on an ongoing basis.
Her mother is reaching out to caring people with a request for support and help. Even a small contribution is a big step toward a safer life for this child. For some, it may be a modest amount – but for Anna, it means the chance to live more peacefully, to study, and to simply be a child.
