Little friends need our help!

On July 20, 2021, the UBB ICF website hosted the project “Little Friends Need Our Support!” To raise funds to pay for food and household goods for the Best Friends Animal Shelter (Ark Zoo), located in Makariv township in Kyiv region for the total amount of UAH 50,000.
The shelter was established in 2014 and was not designed for the number of animals that are now in it. Currently, the shelter has about 700 dogs, 300 cats and other animals: foxes, wolves, raccoon dogs and others. There are 9 people working in the shelter and there are always endless needs, especially in winter. It takes 6.5 tons of food per month to feed dogs. But the diet of animals is not only food, but also porridge with minced meat. And veterinary procedures are a mandatory monthly component, so Katozal was purchased - a tool that stimulates the proper metabolism of animals, as well as a disinfectant powder for sterilization of premises where animals are.
At the end of the fundraiser and before purchasing the necessary, we clarified with the director of the shelter that now is the most relevant for animals, of course, in the first place was food.
Stuffing was purchased from a reliable and proven supplier, from whom the shelter always tries to buy, because there is a better value for money.
The foundation's team visited the shelter and got to know its residents in person. The area of ​​the shelter is large, and there are labyrinths of dog cages, each of them trying to jump out and run to the man behind bars to get a little warmth and caress. Many animals are left outside the gates of the shelter, some are rescued from training stations, such as foxes and raccoons, and some are found wounded in the woods. The shelter cannot refuse to accept new animals, but unfortunately the possibilities are not limitless…
