Marta is 12 years old. She is a curious, creative, and incredibly strong girl who has been fighting for her life since birth.

She was born with a congenital developmental disorder, has undergone surgery for spina bifida and hydrocephalus, and suffers from lower paraparesis and dysfunction of pelvic organs. She spends most of her time under medical supervision. Now, Marta urgently needs surgery, as her life and well-being depend on a programmable shunt system that regulates intracranial pressure. The cost of necessary medical supplies for the surgery: 96,000 UAH.

Marta’s family lives in a small village. Her mother stays home to care for her, while her father works as an electrician. All their savings have already been spent on treatment. Despite the hardships, her parents believe in the power of kind-hearted people and dream of the day their daughter can live without pain.

Marta loves making bracelets from rubber bands and ribbons and enjoys working with threads. However, due to her medical condition, she rarely gets to do what she loves. Her interaction with peers is now limited to social media…
