Maksym was born at term, and the pregnancy proceeded without complications — no one could have imagined how drastically life would change for this family. During delivery, the baby was strangled by the umbilical cord, but this was not detected in time. From the first months, it became clear that his motor development would be extremely challenging: his hands were often clenched, strabismus appeared, and he was unable to roll over. This marked the beginning of endless examinations, searching for solutions, and continuous rehabilitation.
Despite all difficulties, Maksym consistently responded to the efforts of adults with remarkable perseverance. By the age of two, he began to hold toys and his head no longer swayed. At three, he learned to sit on his knees and move around, and his smile at that moment was the best proof of a small victory. Over the years, the family has completed numerous rehabilitation courses, each bringing visible progress.
Recently, thanks to kind and caring people, Maksym was able to undergo another important rehabilitation course. The results inspire everyone around him: he has become more confident in his movements, his coordination has improved, and most importantly — he can now stand up on his own when he has something to hold on to. For a child who has been fighting for every movement for so long, this is a true breakthrough.
Today, Maksym is 10 years old. He attends school, loves mathematics, and dreams that one day he will be able to run and play football with other children. He walks with his mother’s support, mostly on his toes, but each new course helps strengthen his body and brings him closer to his long-awaited independent steps.
The family does everything they can, but they can no longer cover the ongoing rehabilitation costs. That is why they are asking for support — to continue the treatment that is vital for Maksym and that has already proven that miracles happen where compassion and kindness meet.
Every contribution is one more step toward the boy’s dream of walking independently. Together, we can give him the chance he has been waiting for.
