Hope for Fulfilling Life

Nadia has been fighting for her life since birth. She was born with a diaphragmatic defect, followed by a relapse. For almost three years now, Nadia has been living with epilepsy. The severe seizures exhaust her, especially the nocturnal ones, leaving her with an excruciating headache the next morning.

Nadia adores dancing, interacting with other kids, running around playgrounds, and sliding down slides. Unfortunately, due to her illness, she isn’t as agile as her peers, tires quickly, and often has to refrain from any form of activity.

Anti-seizure medications provide only temporary relief but the seizures persist. Specialists in pediatric neurosurgery at the Okhmatdyt hospital have experience in successfully treating epilepsy with modern equipment. However, a part of the medical supplies for surgery is not provided by the state and must be covered by the patient. For Nadia’s family, the sum of over one hundred thousand hryvnias is unaffordable. The girl’s father died in 2019.
