In 2014, six-year-old Aryna saw from the window how missiles destroyed the Donetsk airport. Long-term work with a psychologist after moving to Pavlohrad helped to weaken the impact of traumatic memories. In 2022, Aryna's panic attacks resumed. And in 2024, she suddenly developed intestinal bleeding. After examinations, she was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. The cost of her treatment and special food for six months is unaffordable for their family.
In July 2014, Aryna's family had to leave her native Donetsk and move to Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. For a long time, the girl worked with a psychologist to normalize her sleep and reduce anxiety.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Aryna's panic attacks resumed. During air raids and explosions, she suffocated and fainted. Aryna began to visit a psychiatrist, who prescribed medication.
In April 2024, Aryna suddenly had a fever, indigestion, and soon began bleeding. The girl had part of her intestine removed and a stoma created. She was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, a chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract.
Over the 9 months of her illness, Aryna had 12 bleeding episodes. Kateryna took her daughter to Kyiv by ambulance to the All-Ukrainian Center for Motherhood and Childhood. There, Aryna was prescribed Humira, an advanced drug for the treatment of Crohn's disease, which stops the immune system's attacks on its own intestinal cells. A bottle of the drug, worth UAH 16,500, must be injected monthly. To achieve a stable remission, treatment will take 1-2 years.
Crohn's disease has led to a deficiency of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, creating a favorable environment for damage to large joints. Aryna's left knee started to hurt, she lost 15 kg. She was prescribed special nutrition Nutrini and Fortini, the monthly intake of which will cost 10,688 UAH.
Despite her serious illness, Aryna tries to smile and enjoy life. She plays the guitar, sings, draws, knits, loves playing with her cat Mia. In the future, Aryna dreams of becoming a clothing designer.
Kateryna is raising her daughter alone, Aryna's father died in an accident in 2013. Friends, let's help Aryna's family provide her with medicine and food for six months!
