Let's support children on the path to recovery

"Dacha" in Lviv is a home where children with severe illnesses live together with their families during treatment far from home.

Here, young patients of local hospitals can simply be kids - surrounded by the warmth of their loved ones. And their families can rest and regain strength to keep standing by their side throughout the difficult healing journey.

We are raising funds to ensure this family-centered space remains open for everyone who needs it.

Each year, hundreds of families with seriously ill children come to Lviv for medical treatment. The therapy is often complex, lasting for months or even years. During this time, the most important thing for any family is staying connected. Overcoming hardships is always easier when your mom, dad, siblings or grandma are near.

That's exactly what "Dacha" provides - a home where families can stay together, hand in hand, even in the hardest days.

Psychologists and an art therapist work with both children and adults. Every resident of "Dacha" is welcome to join creative workshops organized by our volunteer community, enjoy board games, have heartfelt kitchen conversations over tea, or watch a movie together.

Currently, "Dacha" offers 16 private rooms for families from all over Ukraine whose children are undergoing treatment or rehabilitation at the Clinical Center for Pediatric Medicine and the St. Nicholas Children's Hospital.

The Zaporuka Foundation provides comfort and care for all "Dacha" residents, helping them navigate the challenges of long-term treatment. Unfortunately, we cannot cover all essential needs with international donor support alone.

That's why, for International Day of Friendship, we are launching this fundraiser - to show families they are not alone in what they're going through.
