12-year-old Ilya Kramarenko has a rare genetic and incurable disease that cannot be treated with medication - exostose disease. It is characterized by the appearance of multiple bone and cartilage neoplasms that grow as long as the person himself grows. Doctors advise removing them only in certain cases, when the neoplasm can lead to irreparable changes in the body, otherwise the removal provokes the appearance of new formations.

Ilya was diagnosed with this disease when he was one year old. At first, formations appeared on the boy's limbs, then on his fingers, and then on his ribs and even shoulder blades. It was from under the shoulder blades that the doctors first removed the growths - then Ilya was 6 years old, and he said: "It was my wings that grew, why were they cut off?..".

After that, the boy underwent 5 more complex operations, during which not only the formation was removed, but also the distortion of the bones of the limbs was corrected by installing metal plates. Thanks to qualified treatment and constant examination, Ilya has the opportunity to go to a comprehensive school, communicate with friends and play outdoor games with them, visit amusement parks and attractions, and just feel like a full-fledged child. The boy loves animals and appreciates the fact that he can be active.

Now Ilya is growing rapidly, and new growths are appearing on his limbs, requiring urgent surgical intervention along with bone correction and plate placement. The boy is scheduled for several complex operations - one after another with minimal time intervals between them (1-2 weeks), which will be carried out at the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics in Kyiv. Because of the war, this family became internally displaced persons, and they really need our financial support with the treatment of Ilya.
