To bring back Polina’s smile

Polina is a very sunny child. The girl always smiles and knows how to support even adults with her warm words. As the literary heroine Pollyanna said, "If you try, you can find something joyful or good in almost everything." This is Polina’s life motto, which helps her remain optimistic even during a serious illness.

For the past year, it has been difficult for Polina to smile, as a malignant tumor has affected her jaw. Due to its challenging location, surgery seemed impossible. However, the doctors at the Pediatric Department of the National Cancer Institute developed an individualized treatment protocol that proved to be successful for Polina. It is now time for the operation, but there is one problem.

The doctors have created a special endoprosthesis to replace the affected facial bone. The cost of this prosthesis is 89,000 UAH, but Polina’s family does not have enough money to cover such a large bill. The war has had a significant impact on their lives: bombings in the Chernihiv region in the first months of the invasion near their home, resulting in numerous destructions, loss of income, and the disruption of their peaceful life.
