Mykola has been living with type 1 diabetes for a year now. The disease manifested itself when the boy's family was already living in a village in the Poltava region, where they were forced to move from their native Kharkiv. As with many children with this diagnosis, the stress of war and the sudden change in living conditions took their toll. Now Mykola lives a new life.
The boy has always been drawn to art, and now he is a 4th-grade student at an art lyceum and is passionate about pottery. This year, Mykola started learning to play the piano, and it has become his new hobby. Creative activities distract the child from the difficult everyday life associated with his illness.
Mykola now has very large fluctuations in his blood sugar levels, so he needs to be monitored around the clock, 10-12 times a day. The boy's fingers can no longer withstand constant pricks.
Mykola really needs continuous monitoring sensors.
It is very difficult to find work in the village where the family lives. In addition, the family is forced to rent their home. They do not have the money to buy sensors. The boy's mother is asking for help from caring people.
